K-12 Comprehensive Assessment System

In education, we walk a fine line between under assessing and over assessing- the key is to arrive at which assessments will give us the best information about student learning in a way that won't take up too much instructional time.  In terms of curriculum, instruction, and assessment, our goal is to have a tighter local, comprehensive assessment system.  By that we mean having a more clearly defined system, K-12, for exactly which assessments we want to use, how often, and for what purpose.   We have the assessments in place already, so now it's just a matter of refining our process in a manner that gives us the most reliable data for tracking student learning throughout the school year.

Please note that the attached document is still a work in progress, as we continue to finalize our K-12 assessment system.
