School Based Health Clinics

All schools in the Springfield School District (SSD) have School Nurses, but the school district has also established a close connection with Springfield Medical Care Systems (SMCS). Under the arrangement, Springfield Medical Care Systems and Springfield School District have partnered to provide school-based health centers in each of the schools in Springfield.  The addition of school-based health centers will increase the access to medical, behavioral health, and dental services and allow for more comprehensive support of the children in the Springfield community.  Together we strive to increase access and reduce barriers to care. In the fall of 2020, SMCS offered voluntary flu vaccinations through the School-Based Health Centers. Announcements for upcoming 2021 flu vaccine clinics will be made here and through schools as information becomes available.
