Bus Update 2

Hello, again, Springfield School District,

It is Superintendent McLaughlin. Earlier this afternoon, I informed you that our bus runs were at least 25 minutes behind, but I didn’t have a precise time delay. I also didn’t have an understanding of how this would impact the Elm Hill and Union Street runs.

I now can give you an update on where we believe we are. It appears that our middle and high school runs are either done or wrapping up in the next 20 minutes. So, this will be my last message that includes middle school and high school families.

The afternoon elementary run is a bit disjointed. When possible we trimmed the high school and middle school routes to help get going on the elementary run quicker, but not all buses were in a position to do that. I can report that buses 11 & 16 are running on time. Other buses are still behind and could be by as much as 45 minutes. As a result, I will continue to send messages to Elm and Union parents to help you anticipate drop-off times.

I know that is the last thing anyone needed as we deal with so many other challenges. I apologize on behalf of the district, and I thank you for your understanding and flexibility.
