VT Agency of Education definition of High Quality Effective Preschool Education:

What defines Vermont Universal Prekindergarten Education is the implementation of high- quality, effective instruction by licensed educators who use evidence-based practices within intentionally designed early learning environments. Early educators align curriculum with the Vermont Early Learning Standards while adapting experiences to support the full participation of each and every child to realize their full potential and promote successful outcomes.

Springfield School District offers Universal Publicly Funded Prekindergarten education for its 3-5 year old children in community early care and learning partner programs that have met the high-quality standards of Act 166. Publicly funded prekindergarten is 10 hours, per week of developmentally appropriate learning experiences offered throughout the academic year. Below you will find our cover letter containing a list of the Springfield School District’s current partner programs and additional information as well as our registration form.

If parents are wondering about their child’s development they can call the program anytime during the school year. Developmental screenings are performed free of charge. We love talking about children and can offer support and information about early childhood development and special education topics.
Call 802-885-5242 and talk with any of our early childhood special education professionals.
