SHS Community Service Program

Welcome to the page for SHS’s Community Service program

Thank you for your patience, as this page is still under construction.
All SHS students need to earn 40 hours of Community Service to graduate.  Students who transfer in will have a pro-rated requirement.  Non-paid service for qualified 501c3 non-profit organizations must be pre-approved by the SHS Community Service Coordinator PRIOR to work being done.  Students must turn in their signed Community Service forms to the Community Service Coordinator in order to receive credit for their work.
Daily or weekly opportunities are available throughout the year at All4One, the Humane Society, the Family Center, the Town Library, and the Springfield Parks and Recreation Center.   Community Service Forms are available for these opportunities below – as well as in the SHS Library.

Once you Select an Event, Print (or pickup) a CS Forms, then:
1. Write your name on the form
2. Contact the organization to schedule work time (and register with that organization, if needed)
3. Arrive on time for your shift(s), with a positive attitude, ready to work
4. Volunteer
5. Ask a representative at the organization sign your form
6. RETURN the signed form to the  SHS office (during the summer) or the Library (during the school year).
If you (or your student) are interested in volunteering for a different organization, or if you have questions, please email me.  (Service does not have to be limited to Springfield, but it does have to be work with a 501c3 non-profit organization)
