The Springfield Public Schools are now registering children for Kindergarten for the 2012/2013 school year. Children born in 2007 who will be five (5) ON or BEFORE September 1, 2012 are eligible to enter kindergarten. If you have not yet received a registration form, please call Judy Spaulding at 885-5154 to request one.

Elm Hill welcomes it's new Principal, Laura Hopkins!
Mrs. Laura Hopkins comes to Elm Hill from the Longwood CSD on Long Island, NY, where she served for two years as an Elementary Assistant Principal in a K- 4 building of over 1,000 students. Prior to that, she was the Educational Coordinator at Queens Centers for Progress, a school for disabled students in early intervention, pre-school and school-aged programs. Mrs. Hopkins has experience as a lead teacher in fourth grade, kindergarten and special education.
Mrs. Hopkins is a graduate of SUNY Stony Brook where she earned a BA in Social Science and Child and Family Studies as well as earning her administrative credentials in Educational Leadership. She was awarded her MS in Special Education and Child Life Studies from Bank Street College for Education in NYC.
When not in school, Mrs. Hopkins can be found in the great outdoors hiking, skiing or snowmobiling; or inside bookstores combing through books for exceptional children’s literature. Mrs. Hopkins resides in both Wardsboro, Vermont and Long Island, New York where she enjoys spending time with her family and two dogs.

If you want to be a part of the 2012 ski/snowboard season please come to this meeting. Registration forms, volunteer opportunities, rental information, helmet purchase and all other information will be available to get you signed up and ready to begin skiing or snowboarding on January 8th, 2012.
